83.23. A person is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine of not less than $800 and not more than $10,000 in the case of a natural person and of not less than $2,500 and not more than $62,000 in the case of a legal person who knowingly makes a false or misleading statement or knowingly transmits a document containing false or misleading information so as to(1) become or remain eligible for legal aid under Chapter II;
(2) make a family member eligible or remain eligible for that legal aid; or
(3) help another person to obtain legal aid to which that person is not entitled.
